As you all know, there has been strong rivarly of Chile One and Yo Maps fans for some time now. They always debate who is the best. Yesterday, the Kwacha Music Awards announced WINNERS of the awards. Chile One won five awards, i.e Most Conscious Song, Best Mainstream/Pop Song, Best Male Artist, Song of the Year, and Album of the Year. His main rival Yo Maps didn’t win any award. There is a heated debate on social media. Yo Maps fans are saying how could he win an award if he had withdrawn from the awards. Chile One fans are saying he should just humble himself, he was announced as a nominee so he didn’t withdraw.
Our Take : It is true Yo Maps had announced the withdrawal of his nominations in September this year. If you can recall, his withdrawal of nominations was around the time he said he wanted to sponsor one of the categories at the Kwacha Music Awards. Yesterday, When announcing the winners of the Kwacha Music Awards (KMAs), Yo Maps was included in the nominees of the categories he was nominated. So this basically points to one thing. Its either the Kwacha Music Awards organizers ignored his withdrawal requests or Yo Maps sorted out the issues he had with the organizers and thats the reason he was included. The other reason is maybe he genuinely lost all awards which is mostly unlikely this year looking at how much he had put in the work. So whats next? If indeed the Kwacha Music Awards organizers ignored the requests of withdrawal from Yo Maps, he should take action against them because this is tarnishing his name.
